BANGOR – William H. “Bill” Allen Jr., 90, of Bangor died Nov. 10, 2004, at a local health facility. He was born June 4, 1914, in Woolwich, a son of William H. Allen and Mehitable (Pushard) Allen. Bill attended Woolwich and Bath schools. He was a farmer at heart, but also worked at Bath Iron Works, was an excellent carpenter, a man of many talents. He resigned from Waldo County Transportation Co. in 1999, after 16 years of service. Bill was predeceased by a sister, Grace Blair of Bath; two brothers, Arthur Allen of Woolwich, and Marshall Allen of Monroe. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Connie; a son, William H. “Terry” Allen III, and wife, Hannah, of Bangor; a granddaughter, Susan Brown of Auburn; two great-grandchildren, Chris and Brendan; his sister, Alma Litchfield of Bath; and a brother, Robert Allen and wife, Anna, of Woolwich, plus many more relatives and friends. Bill was a good man loved and respected by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed. There will be no funeral services. A memorial gathering is planned for a later date.
