MEDWAY – William H. “Bill” Fleming Jr., 66, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007, at Milli-nocket Regional Hospital, after a brief illness. He was born April 21, 1941, in Medford, Mass., the son of William H. and Ethel L. (Harney) Fleming. Bill was a graduate of Medford High School, Class of 1958, and attended Boston University. He also served in the Army National Guard. Bill was a member of Local No. 6 Insulators and Asbestos Workers for 30 years, retiring in 2003. While working with the IAW, he earned the nickname “The Professor” from his co-workers. For the past 17 years, Bill had been the founder, CEO, and mastermind of Inflatable Abatement Systems in Medway, designing and manufacturing decontamination and containment systems used in the environmental industry. Bill was an avid golfer and member of the VaJoWa Golf Course, Island Falls. He also enjoyed gardening, photography, computers, fishing, and spending winters with Bev at their home in Sebring, Fla. Bill is survived by his soul mate, Beverly Twist Osborn of Medway; three children, William and Scott, both of Somerville, Mass., and Tracy of Arlington, Mass.; three stepchildren, Karen Olivieri and her husband, Philip, of Rangeley, Kathy King of East Millinocket and Belfast, and Julie Waite and her husband, Kent, of Medway; a brother, Richard Fleming and his wife, Diane, of East Hampton, Mass.; two sisters, Doris Kilmonis and her husband, Edward, of Dunedin, Fla., and Shirley Harding and her husband, Jack, of West Harwich, Mass.; 11 grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He will also be missed by many special friends. Friends are invited to visit with the family 6-8 p.m. Friday at Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday with Deacon Danny Watson officiating.
