BELFAST – William J. Violette Jr., 80, died Jan. 24, 2005, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Jan. 13, 1925, in Old Town, the son of William and Clara (Dupplise) Violette Sr. He worked in New England painting houses and in construction. He also traveled as an evangelist for many years and pastored in Sedgwick for several years. He was ordained as a four square minister. He enjoyed hunting, woodworking, gardening and the outdoors. He was predeceased by his wife, Gardys in 1996; a son, Ronald; and four brothers, Hector, Lewis, Leo and John; three sisters, Mary, Jennie and Rose. He is survived by three children, Darlene and Delmont Ward of Belfast, David Violette of Newburgh, Sharon and Mark Sullivan of New York; three grandchildren, a sister, Louise Jordan of Searsport. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, at Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, with Pastor Warren Heath officiating. Spring interment will be in the Forest Hills Cemetery, Deer Isle.
