HERMON – William Maguire, 72, went to be with his Lord and Savior Dec. 2, 2004, after a long illness. He was born Feb. 16, 1932, the son of Alton and Roselyn (Hadfield) Maguire. William served as a U.S. Army Veteran during the Korean War. He worked in sales at Bean and Conquest and Quirk Auto for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and all the other outdoor sports, but most of all he enjoyed living his life for Christ. He is survived by his wife, Merlene; two sons, Richard Maguire of Bangor, and Robert Maguire and his wife, Jean, of Revere, Mass.; one grandson, Jared of Revere; caring sisters, Joan Lancaster of Augusta, Linda Lopardo of Connecticut; one aunt, Helen Lambert of Lisbon Falls; and a special brother-in-law, Paul Bragan and his wife, Judy, of Corinna. He will be sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends. We will all be looking forward to seeing him again in Heaven. He was predeceased by a brother, Richard; and a sister, Mary Weymouth. A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5, 2004, at the Bangor Baptist Church, 1476 Broadway, Bangor with the Rev Dr. Jerry Mick, pastor, officiating. Friends may call from 2 p.m. until time of service. A reception will follow at Bangor Baptist. Interment will be in Morse Corner Cemetery in Corinna.
