MILLINOCKET – William Norman Collins Morgan Sr., 63, died unexpectedly Saturday, April 29, 2006. He was born Oct. 11, 1942, in Newton, Mass., the son of William Alan and Norma I. (Turnbull) Morgan. Bill graduated from Newton High School and continued his education at Newton Technical High School, New Hampshire College and New Hampshire Technical College. After his education, he enlisted and served two years in the U.S. Air Force. After his discharge from the military, he met his future wife, Alice M. Johnston, in 1961, while stationed at Dow Air Force Base in Bangor and married on Oct. 12, 1963. Bill’s career followed the electronics industry and he would work at several electronic occupations in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. He also worked as a dispatcher and special police officer for the town of Windham, N.H. He enjoyed working for Passtime Pet Service, a pet sitting service started by his wife. In November of 2005, he and his wife decided they would make their home in her hometown of Millinocket. Bill was a devoted ham operator. He was a member of the Concord Country Club and enjoyed golf, especially his hole-in-one. He was a member of the American Legion, a member of the Royal Order of Moose in Concord, N.H. and a member of the grange. He enjoyed genealogy and especially researching the Turnbull and Morgan clans. He was a past master in 2000, and secretary, of Spicket Lodge No. 85, Salem, N.H., past paster in 2003 of Pulpit Rock Lodge No. 103, Pelham, N.H., and past master in 2004 at Lawrence United AF & AM, Lawrence, Mass., a member and past secretary of John Hancock Lodge in Methuen, Mass., a member of Gideon Lodge in Kingston, N.H. He was a member of the Scottish Rite Body, Shrine Affiliations, Valley of Nashua, past captain of the Temple Guard, past president of the past master’s unit, the Police Square Club of New Hampshire, Haverhill Council R & SM, Knights Templar Commandery No. 14 of Haverhill, Mass. and Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Nashua, N.H. He was a member and past chaplain of the Order of Eastern Star, Chapter 57 of Salem, N.H. At the time of his death, he was serving as secretary of Nollesmic Lodge, AF & AM in Millinocket. He is survived by his mother, Norma Morgan of Chester, N.H.; his wife, Alice M. (Johnston) Morgan of Millinocket; his daughter, Laura Marie Morgan Walsworth and her husband, David and son, Joshua of Salem, N.H.; and his son, William N. C. Morgan, Jr. and his wife, Yukiko and son, Collin Michael. He is also survived by his brother, Leonard Garfield Morgan of Chester, N.H.; his sisters-in-law, Florence (Johnston) Archie and her husband, Arthur, of Millinocket, Mary (Johnston) Pelkey of Florida, Dorothy Johnston of Millinocket; brothers-in-law, Albert M. M. Johnston III and wife, Phyllis, of Carmel, Eugene Johnston and wife, Elizabeth, of East Millinocket, Brian Johnston and wife, Julie, of Sherman; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. He was predeceased by his father in 1980. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, May 1, at R. L. Bouchard Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket, where members of Nollesemic Lodge of Masons and a delegation from Spicket Pulpit Rock and Lawrence United will assist with conducting a Masonic memorial service at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 2, at the Millinocket Baptist Church with the Rev. Rudy Homchuck officiating.
