CARIBOU – Wilson “Willie” Lovely, 82, died Dec. 24, 2006, surrounded by his family at his home after a two year battle with cancer. He was born April 28, 1924, in Caribou, the son of Fremont and Anna Marie (Lauritesn) Lovely. Willie was a 1941 graduate of Caribou High School and served with the U.S. Army Air Corps as a radar crewman during World War II. He married Carol Johnston May 27, 1952. Mr. Lovely was employed by the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier for more than 37 years. Willie enjoyed his job and the many friends he worked with throughout the years. For 13 years after his retirement he spent winters in Mesa, Ariz., where he made many friends. He was an avid card player and enjoyed many long hours of playing cards with family and friends. He is survived by his son, Michael Lovely of Caribou; his daughter, Tina Moir and her fiance, Lawrence Huckins Jr., of Limestone; a former daughter-in-law, Laurie Corriveau of Presque Isle; six grandchildren, Michael Lovely II, Wendy Lovely, Jonathan Moir, Luke Moir and his wife, Tina, Erica Moir and Jessica Lovely; three great-grandchildren, Brandon and Anthony Lovely and Emily Moir, and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Lovely was predeceased by his wife, Carol in 1985; and two sons, Luke Lovely in 1979 and Larry Lovely in 1992. Willie will be greatly missed by his many family and friends. Family and friends are invited to visit with the family and share remembrances of Willie’s life with them 6-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 29, at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou.
