BRUNSWICK – Winifred Buck Russell, 95, born Aug. 7, 1910, in Whitefield, the daughter of Elizabeth Ireland Buck and William Buck, died Monday, April 10, 2006, in Brunswick at the home of her daughter. She graduated from Gardiner High School in 1927 and Farmington State Normal School in 1930. She taught school for many years in the West Gardiner area, Greenville and Shirley. In 1937, she married Thomas Russell of Millinocket. They were married for 45 years until his death in 1982. She was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and attended the Court Street Baptist Church in Auburn. She is survived by her sister, Willi B. Johnson of Hallowell; two daughters, Anne Russell of Brunswick and Marilyn Howerton of Millinocket; three grandchildren, Dr. Jerilyn K. Wright of Perryton, Texas, Dr. Matthew Kisabeth of Mt. Pleasant, Mich., and Tonya K. Mann of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and three great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, at the Millinocket Cemetery, Millinocket.
