CALAIS – Winnifred E. Boyd, 97, died Monday afternoon, Nov. 8, 2004, at the Atlantic Rehab and Nursing Center after a brief illness. She was born at Letete, New Brunswick, Canada, a daughter of George and Matilda Guptill Matthews. She attended local schools. Mrs. Boyd had been the desk clerk at the International Motel in Calais for many years. Her husband, Thomas Boyd, died in 1985. Surviving are a brother, Lawrence D. Matthews of Manchester; a sister, Lena McKenzie of Calais; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at the Calais Cemetery. Pastor Bob Hinton will officiate. Arrangements are by the Scott-Wilson Funeral Home, 22 Church St., Calais.
