PRESQUE ISLE- Winona A. Wheeler, 86, died Jan. 5, 2004, at a Presque Isle healthcare facility. She was born June 2, 1917, in Mars Hill, the daughter of Edward L. and Lottie (Reese) Cheney. She was a member of the Grant Memorial United Methodist Church in Presque Isle. She was also a member of the Mars Hill Senior Citizens, Spragueville Extension Home Makers and Lunar Chapter No. 126 OES. She had been employed at S.A.D. No. 1 School Lunch and Aroostook Shoe. She is survived by two sons, Wayne C. Wheeler and his wife, Marilyn, Ralph “Bud” Wheeler and his wife, Anita, all of Presque Isle; grandchildren, Tammy Wheeler of Presque Isle, Gary and Kelly of Sidney, Vicki and David Huston of Mapleton, Lauri and Bruce Buck of Mapleton, Lisa and Brent Scovil of Blaine; step grandchildren, Donna Richardson of Mapleton, and Mike Smith of Presque Isle, Stacey Willette of Washburn, Bobbi Lynn Ouellette of Connor; eight great-grandchildren; and seven great-step-grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth James of Chapman, and Dorothy Lamson of Presque Isle; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Roland Wheeler in 1995; and three brothers, Vaughn Cheney, Adonis Cheney and Ralph Cheney. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Grant Memorial United Methodist Church, Fleetwood Street, Presque Isle. Spring interment will be in Fairmount Cemetery, Presque Isle.
