PRESQUE ISLE – Woodrow A. Cummings, 85, died April 13, 2005, at a Caribou hospital. He was born Dec. 28, 1919, in Houlton, the son of Frank and Opal (Foster) Cummings. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, receiving a Bronze Star. Woody was a very special loved Dad and Grampy who loved family times, four wheeling, camping, fishing and going out for breakfast. We will miss him greatly. He was a member of Hayward-Frazier Post No. 2599 VFW and the Ray Goding Post No. 88 American Legion in Presque Isle, the Easton ATV Club and had been actively involved with the James School Restoration Project. He was predeceased by his first wife, Katherine (Robinson) Cummings; and more recently his second wife, Erma (Kierstead) Cummings; also a stepdaughter and stepsons, Dawn “Sis” Aubin, Lee Robinson, Robert Robinson; brothers, Raymond, Herschel, Donald, Delmont and Earl Cummings; sisters, Marie Michaud and Margaret Baughman. Surviving him are stepsons, Harold Kierstead and his wife, Cathy, of Easton and Steven Kierstead of Presque Isle; step-daughters, Elaine Noyes and her husband, Larry, of Mapleton and Sandra Ouellette and her husband, William, of Presque Isle; several stepgrandchildren, great-stepgrand-children, nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call 7-8:30 p.m. Friday, April 15, at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Kevin Kierstead, officiating. A Military Committal service will be conducted at the Maine Veterans Cemetery in Caribou later in the spring.
