GREENBUSH – Evelyn G. Adams, 86, passed away Sept. 26, 2008, at a Bangor nursing facility. Evelyn was born Dec. 20, 1921, daughter of Herbert and Angie (Fowler) O’Keefe. Evelyn enjoyed many things, but she got the most joy out of being a stay-at-home mother. Her other hobbies included, fishing, sewing, knitting, cooking and gardening. Evelyn is survived by four sons, Nolan Adams Jr., Norman Adams and his wife, Theresa, AC Henderson and his wife, Helen, and Bob Piers of Sevierville, Tenn.; two daughters, Marinette Daniels and Betty Meir; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Marie O’Keefe and Lovina Kennedy; several nieces and nephews. Evelyn was predeceased by her husband, Nolan Leroy Adams Sr.; her grandson, Christopher Adams; two granddaughters, Toni White and Sarah Holmes; three brothers, Linwood, Lloyd and Arthur O’Keefe; and two stepsisters, Esther Gaudette and Leah Bartlett. A visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 29, at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town, where a funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday. Interment will be after the service at Cardville Cemetery, Greenbush.
