PEMBROKE – Richard R. Kinney, 85, went to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, Sept. 27, 2008, at a Calais nursing home. Richard was born July 16, 1923, in Perry, son of the late LeRoy and Cora (Flood) Kinney. He grew up in the Perry and Pembroke areas and also lived in St. Albans and Hampden for a number of years, performing small engine repair and owning and operating Kinney Well Drilling. Richard also became a successful Electrolux vacuum cleaner salesman. Upon retiring, Richard relocated back to Pembroke. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Pembroke, where he served the Lord faithfully. Richard loved to sing the hymns, serve in any way he could and share the good news of salvation with others. In addition to his parents, Richard was predeceased by his first wife, Elizabeth (Kilby) Kinney; his second wife, Hildreth (Whitney) Kinney; and two brothers, Forrest and Morris Kinney. Surviving are his son, Charles Kinney of Edmunds; four daughters, Marilyn Morang of Charlotte, Patricia Owen of Robbinston, Catherine Howe of Brewer and Becky Guerette of Litchfield; two brothers, Marshall Kinney of Oakland and Ernest Kinney of Poland Springs; two sisters, Lila Lyons and Eleanor Dolan, both of Florida; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A celebration of Richard’s life will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 3, at First Baptist Church of Pembroke.
