DUANE R. EMERY

VAN BUREN and ST. ALBANS – Duane R. Emery, 67, died Oct. 1, 2008, at a Van Buren health care facility after a brief illness. He was born Oct. 8, 1940, in Hartland, the son of Durward and Lydia (Ross) Emery. He was employed as a heavy equipment mechanic in the construction trades for 40 years. Duane is survived by one son, Tim Emery and his wife, Lynn, of Van Buren; three daughters, Vicki Sabota and her husband, John, of Liberty, S.C., Debra Hopper and her husband, Gene, of Seneca, S.C., and Michelle Nabors and her husband, Jason, of Mountville, S.C.; two brothers, Larry Emery and his wife, Joyce, of Portland, Ore., and Barry Emery and his wife, Eleanor, of Locust Grove, Ga.; 11 grandchildren, two nephews and one niece. A funeral service will be held 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, at St. Albans Union Church, St. Albans, with Pastor Leonard Reiss officiating.
