GILBERT D. ANDREWS JR.

FRANKLIN – Gilbert D. Andrews Jr., 72, died Sept. 30, 2008, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Jan. 31, 1936, in Machias, the son of Gilbert and Margaret (Seavey) Andrews. Gilbert was a U.S. Navy veteran. He worked for Larry’s Bakery, Ellsworth, for many years. He was a member of Franklin Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and an honorary trustee. He was also a member of Franklin VFW Post No. 1698. He is survived by his mother, Margaret Andrews; his wife of 23 years, Eleanor Andrews; and one daughter, Esparanza Andrews, all of Franklin; two sisters, Leila Dalangauskas of Connecticut and Judy Blyther of Machias; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his father, Gilbert D. Andrews Sr. A funeral service will be celebrated 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6, at Franklin Baptist Church with the Rev. Steven Sobel, pastor, officiating. Interment with military honors will be at Bayview Cemetery, Franklin, after the service. Family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at Franklin Baptist Church.
