MONTICELLO – Rodney H. Foster, 63, died Oct. 12, 2008, at a Houlton health care facility. He was born April 11, 1945, in Houlton, the son of Hillstien and Doris Swimm Foster. Rodney graduated from Ricker Classical Institute and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Unity College. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed at Loring Air Force Base. He had been employed at Dunn Furniture Co., Houlton, for 24 years. Rodney was a member of United Methodist Church, Monticello and pastored the church for four years. He was a member of Houlton Masonic Lodge; served on the board of directors of Friendly Village, Monticello; and the board of directors of S.A.V.E. He is survived by a sister and a brother-in-law, Angela and Robert Cowperthwaite of Houlton; a nephew, Eric Cowperthwaite and his wife, Audra, of Houlton; nieces, Sarah Noland and her husband, James, of Waterville, and Martha Bell and her husband, Christopher, of Houlton; and a special friend, Dee Henderson of Houlton. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to all the staff of Madigan Estates Nursing Facility of Houlton. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, at Foster Cemetery, Monticello, with the Rev. Marilyn Rohdin officiating. A time of fellowship will be after at United Methodist Church of Monticello. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to remember Rodney may make donations to United Methodist Church of Monticello, P.O.
