KENDUSKEAG – Charles Joseph Wolverton, 62, passed away Oct. 16, 2008, at his residence. He was born Aug. 2, 1946, in Mars Hill, the son of Clarence G. and Inez A. (Wylie) Wolverton. Charlie served his country in the U.S. Army. He graduated from Easton High School and Husson College. Charlie started his career in the automotive field at Pine State VW. He was an exceptional businessman and created Quality Tire and Service Center Inc., Brewer, which he owned and operated since 1992. Charlie was a member of Anah Shrine and Easton VFW. He loved tearing up the turf playing golf, where there are many fond memories. His pride and joy was mowing the lawn at his home and keeping it looking just right. More than anything, Charlie loved his family dearly. His relationship with his loving wife was an example to all and the pride he had in his children will never be forgotten. There are many wonderful memories of Charlie with his grandchildren, who he adored thoroughly, and he had a special nickname for each of them. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Beth Wolverton; two sons, C. Joseph Wolverton Jr. and wife, Jodi, of Lewiston and Anthony Wolverton and wife, Kelsey, of Brunswick; a daughter, Melissa Reardon and husband, Lance, of Dexter; three sisters, Sharon Sutherland and husband, George, of Florida, Diane Parsons and husband, Clint, of Otis and Valerie Hersom and husband, Cal, of North Carolina; 10 grandchildren, Derek, Emma, Connor, AJ, Ava, Logan, Alexis, Joshua, Corbin and Corey; a brother-in-law, Jack Chase and wife, Joyce; parents-in-law, Jean and George Chase; aunts and uncles, Bob and Helen Wolverton, Jean Wolverton, Helen Hansen, Bette Everett, Jim and Chris Wilson, Charlotte and Charlie Wood and Jean Bednic; many nieces, nephews and friends. Friends are invited to call 5-7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 20, with the Rev. Richard “Dick” Devendorf, pastor of First Church of the Nazarene, officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at Brookings-Smith Family Center, 163 Center St., Bangor, after the service.
