GOULDSBORO – Frederick Jordan Davis Jr., 55, went to be with our Lord, Jesus Christ. He died unexpectedly Sunday, Oct. 19, 2008. He was born Feb. 5, 1953, in South Addison, the son of the late Frederick and Nellie (Clark) Davis Sr. He graduated from Narraguagus High School in 1971, and joined the U.S. Coast Guard as a boatswain mate second class. He met and married Amy (Culver) Davis in the Coast Guard, Jan. 17, 1976, where they both served on a 44-foot motor life boat. He then lobster fished for 28 years, before joining the Gouldsboro Medical Clinic as their night janitor. He held that position for 11 years. Fred enjoyed many outdoor activities such as tractor work, cutting wood and driving his ranger. He was a talented man and could do most anything he put his mind to. He was a family man whose love for his children, grandchildren and sisters was as pure as God’s love. And we all cherished him. Fred was beloved by his family. He is survived by his adoring wife, Amy of 32 years; his children, John Wesley Davis and significant other, Megan, Andrew Culver Davis, Natalie Renee Bunting and husband, Michael, and Ingrid Lea Ward and husband, David; Lillian Ward, Breydon Bunting, Ashley Davis and an expected granddaughter, Lola Ward; two sisters, Mary Jo Hammond and companion, Dana Hyde, and Susan Moore and husband, Johnny; several very special aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be sadly missed by a very close friend, Bud Holland. A service of remembrance will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 24, at Cherryfield United Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Mark O. Chandler officiating. A reception will be after in the church vestry. Burial will be at Mailey Hill Cemetery, Columbia.
