CAMBRIDGE – Thomas M. Kovach, 56, died unexpectedly, Oct. 19, 2008, in Manchester, N.H. He was born Sept. 19, 1952, in Wichita, Kan., son of Stephen and Patricia (Savoie) Kovach. Tom’s family moved to New York when he was young and was raised as a New Yorker, and was an avid Yankees fan. In 1978, he married Karen (Chadbourne) Kovach and later they moved to Cambridge. Tom worked for many years for Dexter Shoe Co., Dexter, and was currently working for Hamlin Associates, Parkman. He is survived by his wife of Cambridge; two daughters, Lauren Kovach of Boston and Susan Kovach of Cambridge; a brother, Steve Kovach and his wife of Colorado; a sister, Kathy Berka and her husband, Mike, of New York; many nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Dave Koster of New York. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct, 23, at Crosby & Neal, 61 Main St., Dexter. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted for a college fund for the family.
