HOULTON – Earl W. Scott, 83, died Oct. 20, 2008, in Houlton. He was born Sept. 7, 1925, in Houlton, the son of Sidney and Gertrude (Carr) Scott. Earl attended Houlton schools and was in the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II. He was a resident of Houlton and a well-known carpenter in the area for many years. Earl is survived by two sisters, Betty Scott of Hodgdon and Gloria Cortis of Glenburn; two brothers, Harold Scott of Fort Fairfield and Merlin Scott of Bangor; a nephew, David Little and his wife, Tanya and their son, Cody Earl Little, of Houlton; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two sisters, Pauline Connors and Ellen Lycette; one brother, Robert Scott; and a special nephew, Linwood Scott. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 24, at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water St., Houlton.
