FREEPORT – Marilyn Simon, 75, wife of the late Steven Simon, passed away Oct. 10, 2008, at Freeport Nursing Home. She was born May 2, 1933, in Bangor, the daughter of Stanley and Doris White. She attended school in Levant and Brewer, and graduated from the University of Maine – Farmington. She taught home economics and later substituted in Bangor area schools. She also spent time as a literacy volunteer. She is survived by a daughter, Terza Norton of North Berwick; a son, Stanley Simon and his wife, Kim, of Raymond; two stepsons, Steven Simon and William Simon and his wife, Diane, of New Jersey; three granddaughters, one grandson, two stepgrandsons; sister, Carolyn (White) Small and husband, Fredrick, of Reston, Va.; brother, Charles White and his wife, Charlene, of Exeter; four nieces, two nephews and their families. A graveside service is planned for 2 p.m. Oct. 25 at Snows Corner Cemetery, Hermon, with the Rev. Rick Lambert officiating.
