EDDINGTON – Louise J. Robertson, 91, wife of the late Frederick E. Robertson, died peacefully Oct. 22, 2008, surrounded by her loving family at her home. She was born Sept. 9, 1917, in Lincoln, the daughter of Louis P. and Rosetta (McLaughlin) Thereau. Louise was employed at Dirigo Industries and Tuckers Shoe Factory for many years. Louise and Fred spent many wonderful summers with their family at their cottage in Harrington. She was a member of North Brewer Eddington United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. Surviving are one daughter, Kathleen R. Wood and her husband, Jesse, of Eddington; four sons, Frederick L. Robertson and his wife, Gloria, of Orrington, Calvin A. Robertson and Philip D. Robertson, both of Eddington and Edward H. Robertson and his wife, Marion, of Brewer; a granddaughter, Brooke Simmons, who made her home with Louise and Fred for many years; a daughter-in-law, Mary Robertson of Bradley; many grandchildren, many, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She loved her children and grandchildren, who did many things for her, and a granddaughter, Connie, who organized her final days with loving care. In addition to her husband, Fred, Louise was predeceased by a son, Arnold; two brothers, Franklin and Clifton; and a sister, Stella. Relatives and friends are welcome to call 5-7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24, at Brookings-Smith, Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer, where a funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, with the Rev. Dr. Tracy Reeves, pastor of North Brewer Eddington United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be at North Brewer Cemetery.
