BANGOR – Winona Amy Walsh, 88, wife of the late James F. Walsh, died Oct. 27, 2008, at a local health care center. She was born July 6, 1920, in Freedom, daughter of Alonzo H.H. and Inez E. (Gould) Dyer. Winnie’s life was focused on her family and she will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and she loved all children. Winnie enjoyed yard sales and was a member of Veazie Salmon Club. Surviving are six daughters, Pat Snow and her husband, Bill, of Bangor, Ginny Wood of Hermon, Anita Williams and her husband, Eddie, of Athens, Texas, Janie Dinsmore and her husband, Frank, of Veazie, Nina Constable and her husband, Don, of Clinton and Terri Walsh of Milton, Fla.; 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; one sister, Christina Hamilton of Brewer; three sisters-in-law, Mary E. Smith of Bucksport, Gladys Dyer of Waldoboro and Dottie Dyer of Searsport; a special niece, Maxine L. Nutt of Ohio; other nieces and nephews. The family thanks the staff at Baxter Unit of Westgate Manor for their loving care and support. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with her grandson, Pastor Paul F. Warf, of Word of Life Christian Center of Bangor, officiating. Friends are welcome to call noon until the time of service Wednesday. Interment will be at Mount Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Bangor.
