BUCKSPORT – Donald Rae Madore, 79, died Sunday, Nov. 9, 2008, at a Bangor hospital, with family by his side. Don was born Feb. 4, 1929, in Old Town, the son of the late Adelord and Doris Madore. He was married for 54 years to the “love of his life,” Pauline, who predeceased him in 2001. He worked for 28 years at Old Town Canoe Co. where he took great pride in his job. Don had a wonderful sense of humor and positive attitude which allowed him to enjoy life to its fullest. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by brothers, Robert, Delores and Lawrence; and sisters, Kay, Shirley and Patricia. He was also predeceased by a special nephew, Richard Robishaw. He is survived by his daughter, Gloria Bakeman and husband, John; his granddaughters, Angela Duplessis, and Jennifer Motyl and husband, Nathan; stepgranddaughters, Kelly Greene, Jaime Bakeman and Janet Pereira; one brother, Kenneth; one sister, Elaine Rideout; a sister-in-law and special friend, Cornelia Madore; his great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. A memorial Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, at St. Vincent de Paul Parish, Bucksport.
