BRIDGEWATER – Myrtle L. Hartley, 92, wife of the late Isaiah Hartley, died Nov. 11, 2008, at a Presque Isle health care facility. She was born April 3, 1916, in Mars Hill, the daughter of Judson and Lula Mae (McEntee) Cray. She was a member of Bridgewater Free Baptist Church and Bridgewater Senior Citizens. She enjoyed knitting, sewing and cooking for her family. She is survived by two daughters, Betty Foss and her husband, Doug, of Blaine and Sylvia Knox of Westfield; four sisters, Rena LaFrancis of Presque Isle, Mildred Liakakes of Vermont, Esther Myford of Machias and Elaine Stewart of Ludlow; a brother, Gerald Cray of Presque Isle; several grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by two daughters, Lula Cleaves and Barbara Frost; as well as other brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 14, at Duncan Funeral Home, 8 Main St., Mars Hill, with Pastor Lawrence Beals officiating.
