KENDUSKEAG – Gladys (Cooper) Karvonen Wain, 83, passed away Nov. 14, 2008, in Bangor, with her family by her side. She was born April 1, 1925, in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, England, the daughter of Joseph and Alice Cooper. Gladys worked for years at the NCO Club at Dow Air Force Base and as a popular seamstress in Bangor. She is survived by her husband, Charles W. Wain; daughter, Christine Libby and husband, Reginald; grandchildren, Kassandra Brewer and husband, Adam, and Kyle Libby and girlfriend, Diane Lackie; and great-grandchildren, Sarah, Addison and Evan Brewer. Gladys was predeceased by her first husband, Charles A. Karvonen in 1970. As Gladys wished, there will be no services.
