PALMYRA – Jean Webster, 81, died Nov. 14, 2008, at her Spring Hill Road residence. She was born Oct. 26, 1927, in Medford, Mass., a daughter of Harry and Margaret (Small) Wilder. Jean moved to Palmyra from Massachusetts in 1979 with her husband Charlie. He was killed in 1988 in an automobile accident. Jean had worked as nurse’s aide, a spinner in Ames Textile Mill, Norton, Mass., and retired from Technical Plastics Corp., South Attleboro, Mass. Here in Maine, Jean was actively involved in the community and will be remembered as an avid crafter. She was a member of People’s United Methodist Church, Newport, Sebasticook Grange No. 306 and East Somerset Pomona Grange No. 28. She is survived by her son, Ralph and wife, Cheryl; and a daughter, Charleen Gordon, all of Palmyra; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, sev-eral nieces and nephews. Private committal services will be held at Spring Hill Cem-etery, Palmyra. Cremation arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport.
