GORHAM and MACHIASPORT – Barbara M. Robinson, 90, of School Street and formerly of Machiasport, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008, with her family present at her side at St. Joseph Manor. She was born April 10, 1918, in East Machias, a daughter of James Arthur and Mary Corris Kingsley Berry. Barbara was a 1934 graduate of Washington Academy. Early in life she worked at cabins and local seafood factories. Barbara was a tax collector in Machiasport and a ballot clerk warden for many years. She was active in the Foster Grandparents Program, Machiasport. Barbara was a former member Degree of Pocahontas. She attended Little Falls Baptist Church, Gorham. Barbara was predeceased by her husband, Hollis H. Robinson; seven brothers and sisters. Survivors include her sons, Arthur and his wife, Rochelle Robinson, of Cleveland, Tenn., and Colan M. Robinson of Standish; two grandchildren, James and his wife, Lisa Robinson, and Melissa Robinson; and four great-grandchildren, Parker and Kasey and Shaun Michael, and Jessie. The family expresses their sincerest appreciation to the staff at St. Joseph Manor for their wonderful care given to Barbara. There will be no visiting hours. A graveside service will be held in the spring at Jacksonville Cemetery, East Machias.
