EASTPORT and DENNYSVILLE – Christina L. Baxter, 82, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008, at a Bangor hospital, after a short illness. Christina was born April 19, 1926, in Gloucester, England, daughter of the late Eli and Margaret Harber. She met and married Leo Baxter during World War II. Soon after, Chris came across the Atlantic to reside with her husband in Eastport. In 2005, she moved to Dennysville. Christina was a very devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an active member in Christ Episcopal Church, Eastport. As a scout leader, she so enjoyed teaching the Girl Scouts many new things. Knitting and gardening was always an enjoyment and hobby of Christina’s. Her knitting skills were enjoyed by her family and friends. Chris owned and operated her own boutique during the ’70s and ’80s. Christina was an inspiration to all of the people she met. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Jean; and two brothers, Leslie and Alfred. Surviving are her son, Stuart Baxter and his wife, Carolyn; daughters, Diana Ferrino and her husband, Thomas, Debra Wilder and her husband, David, and Pamela Eaves and her husband, Thomas; she was dearly loved and will be sadly missed by her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Ellen, Theresa, Josephine and Celestine; and a brother, Kent. A Liturgy of Christian burial and Holy Communion will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, at Christ Episcopal Church, Key Street, Eastport. Burial will be afterward at Bayside Cemetery, Eastport.
