CHARLESTON – Margarete T. Bishop, 71, wife of the late Lloyd E. Bishop, died Nov. 24, 2008, at a Bangor hospital, after a long illness. She was born Aug. 31, 1937, in Friesing, Germany, the daughter of August and Anna (Schmitt) Ostermeier. Margarete loved cooking, shopping, playing Beano, enjoying her grandchildren and celebrating Christmas. She is survived by five sons, Lloyd and his wife, Robin, of Exeter, Daniel of North Carolina, David and his wife, Karen, of Ellsworth, George of Tennessee, and Mark of Charleston; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Staples and her husband, Rolf, Julian, Steven and Nicole Bishop, Ashley Samli and Samantha, Donna and Cora Bishop; and a sister, Hildegarde Knoll of Germany. Margarete was predeceased by a daughter, Deborah; and two brothers, Sepp and Leopold. Memorial services will be held 1 p.m. Friday at Thompson Funeral Home, 17 Hudson Road, Corinth, with Pastor Mike Tapper officiating. Friends may visit with the family noon until time of the service.
