DADE CITY, Fla. – Sydney William Damon, 92, formerly of Calais, passed away Nov. 11, 2008, in Dade City, Fla., under the care of Hernando-Pasco Hospice. Syd was born May 3, 1916, in Uxbridge, England. He was a World War ll veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the American Legion. He was retired from Eastern Maine Electric Co. He is survived by his loving wife, Sis; son, John and wife, Shannon, of Mukilteo, Wash.; daughters, Joan and husband, Lawrence Ham, and Jean States of Springfield; brother, Ralph Damon and Lois of Valrico, Fla.; sister, Alice Newman of Orrington; many nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by all. A memorial service will be conducted in Maine at a later date.
