WEST ENFIELD – Elnora Nelson, 88, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2008, surrounded by family and loved ones, at her daughter’s home in Thomaston, Conn. Mrs. Nelson was born Nov. 14, 1920, in West Enfield, daughter of the late Joseph Nadeau and Ethel (Currie) Nadeau. Elnora was a lifelong resident of West Enfield and worked for years as a clerk in the co-op store within town. She was happiest when surrounded by family and friends, especially when getting the latest news of what was happening around the area. She is survived by a daughter, Lynda (Nelson) Nobrega and her husband, Ronald, of Thomaston, Conn.; a grandson, Brent Nobrega of Thomaston, Conn.; and a grandson, Ryan Nobrega of Waterbury, Conn. She also leaves behind a niece, Toni (Ouellette) DuPuis of Carmel; and a nephew, William Nadeau of Newburgh. Her husband, Elwood Nelson; a grandson, Devin Nobrega; a sister and a brother all predeceased her. Calling hours are 4-6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 30, at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 1, at St. Leo’s Church, 18 River Road, Howland. Those who wish may donate in her memory to a charity of choice.
