BUCKSPORT – Leo H. Murray, 94, died Nov. 27, 2008, at a Bangor hospital. He was born May 11, 1914, in Millinocket, the son of Vital and Modeste (Herbert) Murray. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served in the South Pacific during World War II. He retired from St. Regis Paper Co., Bucksport, in 1976, after many years of service. He was a member of Bucksport Church of God. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, carpentry and camping. He will be deeply missed. Leo is survived by his children, Vivian “Skip” Wardwell and her husband, Raymond, of Verona Island, Larry Murray and his wife, Mary, of Colorado Springs, Colo., Bruce Murray and his wife, Linda, of Orland, Gary Murray and his wife, Marilyn, of Bucksport, Scott Murray of Bucksport and Robert Murray and his wife, Sharon, of Moorestown, N.J.; grandchildren, Jennifer, Christopher, Thomas, Jason, Susan, Joyce and Michael; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Leo was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, June, Dec. 29, 2005; four sisters and four brothers. Visitation for family and friends will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, at Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport, where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday with Pastor Ron Pyle officiating.
