MILFORD – Dale R. Roy, 45, died unexpectedly Nov. 28, 2008, at his residence. He was born July 21, 1963, in Bangor, a son of Louis J. Roy Jr. and M. Lorraine (Curtis) Roy. Dale worked in various capacities during his lifetime, including being an emergency medical technician, driving a coach bus, driving a seafood truck, being a driver’s education instructor and working at Birmingham Funeral Home. Dale enjoyed doing family genealogy, traveling and reading maps. Dale was always willing to help his dad do firewood or helping anyone who needed a hand. Dale loved animals and especially enjoyed his pet cats. He is survived by his father, Louis J. Roy Jr. of Milford; four siblings, Steven Roy and his wife, Jin, of Old Town, Sharon Carter and her husband, Tom, of Bangor, Stanley Roy of Old Town and Donna Bond and her husband, Roger, of Greenfield; many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. He was predeceased by his mother, M. Lorraine (Curtis) Roy in 1979; a brother, Robert G. Roy; his paternal grandparents, Louis J. Sr. and Alma (Rustin) Roy; and maternal grandparents, Dwight F. and Mary D. (Perry) Curtis. A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town, where friends may call 1 p.m. until the time of service. Private burial services will take place at a later date at Lawndale Cemetery, Old Town. Memorial contributions may be made to Old Town Animal Orphanage, P.O. Box 565, Orono, ME 04473.
