BROOKSVILLE – Eunice G. Sanborn, 89, died Dec. 3, 2008, at a Penobscot health care facility. She was born Oct. 21, 1919, in Brooksville, daughter of Clifton N. and Villa A. (Saunders) Grindle. She was a graduate of Brooksville High School. She and Murray moved to Portland in 1942 so he could work in the shipyards in South Portland. She worked as a bookkeeper at Galt Block Warehouse, Portland, and Fox & Ginn Storage, South Portland, until her retirement in 1982. She was a member of North Brooksville Methodist Church, Brooksville Historical Society and Walkers Pond Association. Eunice is survived by her daughter, Elaine Boyington of Cape Elizabeth; two grandsons, Roger Boyington and wife, Jody, of Cape Elizabeth and Rodney Boyington and wife, Karynlee, of Gray; two great-grandchildren, Ryan and Allyson Boyington of Cape Elizabeth; her sister, Beulah Hamilton of Penobscot; a niece, Paula Gray and husband, Robert, of Sedgwick; and a nephew, David Hamilton and wife, Ree, of Sedgwick. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband of 61 years, Murray L. Sanborn; and a brother, Philip Grindle. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, at South Brooksville Methodist Church with the Rev. Gary Vencill presiding. Interment will be at Mount Rest Cemetery, Brooksville.
