SANGERVILLE – Pauline E. “Polly” Leland, 80, died Dec. 4, 2008, at Hibbard Nursing Home, Dover-Foxcroft. She was born Feb. 14, 1928, in Guilford, daughter of William and Eleanor (Wilson) Andrews. Polly and her husband, Harold, owned and operated a farm in Sangerville, where they raised seed potatoes. She was a member of East Sangerville Grange and served in several of the offices. Her expertise as a seamstress was a result of classes at the local extension service until Polly finally became the teacher. She was also an accomplished artist and used several mediums, including oil, charcoal and pastels. One of her great enjoyments was time spent at their camp at Schoodic Lake. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Harold W. Leland of Sangerville; two sons, David Leland and James Leland, both of Sangerville; a daughter, Jolene Wickett and her husband, Paul, of Bradford; grandchildren, Anna Bryer and her husband, Garrett, of Bradford, Scott Leland and his girlfriend, Rose, of Sangerville, Michelle Weeks and her husband, Tim, of Parkman, Ronald Leland of Bangor and Jessica Hayes of Orland; three great-grandchildren, Macy and Danielle Weeks and Owen Leland; several nieces and nephews. There will be a celebration of Polly’s life in the spring at the Leland farm in Sangerville, at a time to be announced. Arrangements by Crosby & Neal, Guilford.
