LITTLETON – Guy Frederick Sewell Sr., 84, died Dec. 5, 2008, at a local hospital. He was born March 16, 1924, in Bridgewater, the son of Elbridge Leyton and Goldie Fay (Allen) Sewell. Guy was employed by the Maine Department of Transportation for 33 years and retired as a foreman. He was an avid sportsman, who enjoyed everything about hunting and fishing, but had a passion for fly-fishing. His greatest love was being a loving husband, father and grandfather. Guy is survived by four sons, David H. Sewell and his wife, Susan, of Houlton, Guy “Freddie” Sewell Jr. and his wife, Jill, of Monticello, Ronald A. Sewell and Debbie Silkey of Houlton and Douglas E. Sewell and his wife, Judi, of Ludlow; two daughters, Judy A. Suitter and her husband, Larry, of Houlton and Carolyn C. Harrington and her husband, Stephen, of Machias; 14 grandchildren, Joe, Brad, Jason, Jami, Jeremy, Franny, Lizz, Danielle, Chelsy, Tara, Matthew, Kim, Christopher and Lucas; four great-grandchildren, Isaac, Alex, Kalie and Logan; one brother, Elbridge Sewell and his wife, Fern, of Littleton; two sisters, Pauline Cole of Hollis Center and Elva Beckwith of Washburn; three sisters-in-law, Lillian Sewell, Nonie Little Evelyn and Whelan Lochart; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Marguerite (Slipp) Sewell; four brothers, Percy, Leyton, Vaughn and Donald; and four sisters, Maxine, Ruth, Joyce and Helen. Graveside services were held 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, at Littleton Cemetery.
