PRESQUE ISLE – Claudine Ethel Day, 68, died peacefully Dec. 9, 2008, at a Mars Hill health care facility. She was born Jan. 8, 1940, in Presque Isle, daughter of Cecil and Mary (Walton) Day. She loved playing bingo and going into town. She is survived by three sisters: a very special sister, Shirley Day, and Gloria Belmain and Jane Ames; two brothers, Arthur Day and Gary Day; a very special niece, Phyllis Belmain; a very special nephew, Keith Day; a special dear friend, Mary Jarvis; several special nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by nine brothers and sisters, Grace, Garfield, Charles, Chester, Blanchard, Jean, Geraldine, Clarence and Lawrence. Special thanks to the nurses and staff of the skilled unit at Mars Hill Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 15, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, with the Rev. William Belmain Jr. officiating. Relatives and friends may call noon until the time of service at the funeral home. Spring interment will be at Johnson Cemetery, Presque Isle.
