TA R11 WELS, Maine — An unidentified man may have broken a leg when he fell from a snowmobile while riding on or near Yoke Ponds on Sunday afternoon, Piscataquis County Sheriff’s Department dispatchers said.
The man called 911 on a cell phone to report his injury at about 3 p.m., dispatchers said. He was taken to Millinocket Regional Hospital for treatment after the Millinocket Fire Department’s ambulance service picked him up off Johnson Pond Road.
It took several hours to find the man and take him to the hospital, Maine Warden Service officials said.
No further information was available.
Yoke Ponds is several miles east of Kokadjo, which is about 20 miles north of Greenville.
