SWANS ISLAND – Kenneth W. Turner, 81, died Dec. 14, 2008, on Swans Island. He was born Dec. 31, 1926, on Swans Island, the son of Fred and Flora (Sellers) Turner. Ken was a great mechanic and a good fisherman. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Ken is survived by four cousins, Wayne Robinson of Alabama, Janice Sprague of Bangor, Helen Oliver of Stonington and Phyllis Stinson of Blue Hill; one nephew, Sheldon Carlson and wife, Betty, of Swans Island; and many friends. Funeral services will be held 9 a.m. Monday, Dec. 22, at Jordan-Fernald, 1139 Main St., Mount Desert, and also 12:30 p.m. at Advent Christian Church, Swans Island, with Pastor Kenneth Dutille Jr. officiating.
