Gov. John Baldacci, in a recent radio address, warned Mainers that low fuel prices won’t
last long. Will gas prices track with the economy, and when the economy improves, they
will rise? Or will speculators drive gas and oil prices up months ahead of any economic
up-turn? Will elected leaders have the resolve to push for new fuel alternatives, or will
the lower prices cool the public’s anger?
