BANGOR, Maine — Bangor Hydro-Electric reported more than 4,000 customers were without power Monday night after windy conditions combined with previous tree damage from the recent ice storm caused further outages.

The utility said 4,226 customers were without power about 8 p.m. Monday, with 3,187 of them in Hancock County and most of the rest in Penobscot County.

Customers were asked to report any trees that may be hanging near or touching power lines by calling 800-440-1111.
