FRANKFORT – Ruth C. Perkins, 96, died Dec. 17, 2008, at a Bangor hospital. She was born July 6, 1912, in Stockton Springs, the daughter of Wesley J. and Lelia E. (Hopkins) Perkins. Ruth was a graduate of Bangor High School and was always a hard worker. She was employed as a stitcher in the shoe industry for many years. Ruth attended Frankfort Congregational Church, where she was active in church life. She enjoyed her home, gardening, handiwork and her cats. Ruth and her sister, Alice, had many enjoyable trips during their retirement. Ruth is survived by nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her three sisters, Alice Perkins, Susie Reed and Christine Otis; and by a brother, Herman Perkins. A service in honor and celebration of Ruth’s life will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, at Frankfort Congregational Church, Route 1A, Frankfort, with Pastor Timothy Hall, presiding.
