PRESQUE ISLE – Harold J. Morrissette, 67, died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2008, at a Mars Hill health care facility. He was born on Pearl Harbor Day, Dec. 7, 1941, in Waterville, the son of Odilon and Violet (Norman) Morrissette of Oakland. He worked as a chef all of his life. He cooked for Hotshots in Rhode Island, worked for Northeastland Hotel, Keddy’s Motor Inn and was co-owner of Shirley and Harold’s Restaurant, Presque Isle, for the past 24 years. He is survived by his wife, Shirley (Pinette) Carney Morrissette of Presque Isle; four sons, Harold Jr. and his wife, Linda, of Londonderry, N.H., Todd and his wife, Melissa, of Sanford, Troy and his wife, Jackie, of Tulsa, Okla., and Robbie and his friend of New Sweden; a sister, Ruth Albenze of Brunswick, Ga.; a brother, Robert Morrissette of Benton; many grandchildren; and a dear brother-in-law, Joseph Pinette of Presque Isle. At his request, there will be no calling hours or services. A gathering in his memory will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 29, at Shirley and Harold’s Restaurant, 9 Parsons St., Presque Isle.
