LINCOLN – David Ray Rich Sr., 65, husband of Deborah (Martin) Rich, died Dec. 27, 2008, at his home. He was born June 23, 1943, in Lincoln, the son of Raymond Rich and Marion Avis (Millet) Wise. David was a veteran of the U.S. Armed Services. He worked 36 years in road construction. He was credited for saving two teenagers. David loved hunting, fishing and ice fishing. He often referred to his grandchildren, nieces and nephews as “fish bait.” He always went with his fishing buddy, his son-in-law, Bryan. One of his greatest moments was the day he caught his trophy 40-1/2 inch, 21-pound togue. He also enjoyed gardening, spending time at his new camp and loved living at the lake. David was a devoted husband and father, and would do anything for his family and friends. In addition to his wife, Deborah of Lincoln, he is survived by four children, David Jr. and Elaine of Grand Falls, Kevin and Lorna of Lincoln, Kelly and Bryan of Chester and Jamie of Lincoln; two half sisters, Jackie and Cindy; nine grandchildren, Amy, Tori, Bobby, David III, Kevin Jr., Aaron, Jessica, Gabrielle and Malachi; one great-granddaughter, Breonah and one on the way; sisters-in-law, Cindy and Royce, and Lori and Bob; brothers-in-law, Gary and Sandra, and Teddy; several nieces and nephews. He also leaves two special aunts, Molly Wiswell and Daisy Lyons; and special friends, Ed and Larry. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Richard; and one half sister, Lynn.
