BLUE HILL and DEER ISLE Walter B. Shepard, 82, passed away unexpect-edly Dec. 25, 2008, at a Blue Hill hospital. He was born July 19, 1926, in Sunset, the son of Josie Shepard. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Alice; two daughters, Elizabeth and her husband, Wes Heath, of Pennsylvania and Rose and her husband, Tom Hutchin-son, of Stonington; six grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. In addition to his mother, he was predeceased by two sons, Walter Jr. and Walter Edward Shepard. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 29, at Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Home, 9 Thurlow’s Hill, Stonington, where a funeral service will be celebrated 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30.
