NEWPORT and CROSSVILLE, Tenn. – Rodney A. Hanson Jr., 63, died unexpectedly Dec. 24, 2008, at his Crossville, Tenn., home. Rodney was born July 9, 1945, son of Rodney A. and Nellie (Pelkey) Hanson Sr. He was educated in Newport schools and a 1963 graduate of Newport High School. On Feb. 13, 1965, he married Linda D. Bellefleur. Rodney was employed by United Parcel Service as a delivery driver and then as a tractor-trailer feeder driver between Maine and Masschusetts. He retired in 1998 after 30 years with the company. For many years Rodney and Linda lived in Fairfield, moving to Crossville, Tenn., in 2004. Rodney enjoyed antique autos and had owned a few. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Linda D. Hanson of Crossville, Tenn.; his parents, Rodney and Nellie Hanson Sr. of Newport; two sons, Rodney A. Hanson III of Franklin and Todd D. Hanson of Lisbon; one daughter, Jordin A. Hanson of Crossville, Tenn.; one brother and his wife, Daniel and Cheryl Hanson of Palmyra; a grandson, Mason; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
