CARIBOU – Judy M. Rideout, 67, wife of the late Wayne Rideout, died Dec. 30, 2008, in Lincoln, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She was born June 17, 1941, in Caribou, daughter of the late Harold and Claudine (Haley) Anderson. Judy was a graduate of Caribou High School, Class of 1959. Her class was very important to her and her classmates had offered her encouragement, hope and memories for her to hold onto during her difficult days. Judy worked alongside her husband, Wayne, in their accounting business in Bangor, until his death in 1998. More recently she was employed at Marden’s, Presque Isle, until illness forced her to retire. She was a member of Gray Memorial United Methodist Church. Judy loved to read and work on puzzles. She was an avid gardener and truly loved just being around people. She is survived by her sons, Mark Rideout and his wife, Cyndi, of Bailey, Colo., Michael Rideout and his wife, Trish, of Portland and Mitchell Rideout of Bangor; three sisters, Janet and Dale Bouchard of Madawaska Lake, Claudia and William Sealander of Caribou and Sylvia and Robert Plourde of Madawaska Lake; four grandchildren, Hailey Fisk, Jack Rideout, Josephine Rideout and Cierra Rideout; three special brothers-in-law, Stuart Rideout and his wife, Lucille, of Floral City, Fla., Richard “Dickie” Smith and his wife, Debbie, of Little Madawaska Lake and Vincent Rideout and his wife, Stephanie, of Southbridge, Mass.; her special aunt, Rita Haley of Caribou; several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Rideout was predeceased by a sister, Mary Ann; and a brother, Harold Jr. Judy’s family expresses their heartfelt thanks to Vern and Debbie Taylor of Lakeview Terrace, Lincoln, as well as their staff and the hospice caregivers for the professional and compassionate care Judy received. A commemoration of Judy’s life will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, at Gray Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Anna Beach officiating. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery. After the service all are invited to a time of fellowship and refreshments in the church dining area.
