HOULTON – Clair R. Wright, 76, died Jan. 5, 2009, at a local hospital after a long period of poor health. He was born Feb. 12, 1932, in New Limerick, the son of Arnold and Edith (Maxell) Wright, who predeceased him at an early age. He was then raised by John and Doris Howe Getchell. Clair was employed by McGillicuddy’s of Houlton for more than 30 years as a floor mechanic, appliance repairman, truck driver and even delivery person. He was an all around jack-of-all-trades. When his body started to fail him, Clair’s strength, spirit and humor carried him through his difficult health. This spirit and quiet strength that he possessed was an inspiration to many who knew him. He will be deeply missed. Clair is survived by two daughters, Brenda Wright of Houlton, and Sue Wright and her husband, Timothy Carr, of Brunswick; one son, Gregory Wright of Dallas; and three grandchildren, Jonathan Wright, Cassie Wright Baugh and Dustin Estabrook. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Dunn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. James Gardiner officiating. Spring interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery. Gifts may be made in Clair’s memory to Saint Mary’s Food Pantry, care of Dunn Funeral Home, 11 Park St., Houlton, ME 04730.
