LINCOLN – Retired Master Sgt. Thomas William McNamara Jr., 79, died Jan. 6, 2009, at his home. He was born Dec. 12, 1929, in Lincoln, the son of Lillian (Beathem) McNamara and Thomas McNamara Sr. He retired from the U.S. Air Force with 20 years of service. Thomas loved hunting and fishing, enjoyed going to his camp and spending holidays with his family. He is survived by three children, Lawrence McNamara and his wife, Deb, of South Portland, Monica Cole of Fort Fairfield and Allen Crockett of Douglasville, Ga.; two sisters, Priscilla Condon of Mapleton and Annie MacDonald of Lincoln; seven grandchildren, Lindsay, Morgan, Bryan, Justin, Reggie, Matt and Kyle; a special nephew, Ray Fogg; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Lawrence Beathem and Albert Wilmont Beathem; four sisters, Dorothy, Madeline, Ember and Georgiana; and his best friend, his dog, Randy. Friends may call 9-11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jack Stewart officiating.
