ST. AGATHA – Maurice Guerrette Sr., 80, died unexpectedly Jan. 20, 2009, at his residence. He was born May 31, 1928, in St. Agatha, the son of Evariste and Yvonne (Albert) Guerrette. He was a potato farmer for all of his life; and on a beautiful, sunny, summer day he could be seen riding his tractor, bailing hay or driving his pick-up through town. He is survived by two sons, Maurice Jr. and his wife, Ann Marie and their children, Kyle, of Bangor, Michael, Lloyd and Andrew of Frenchville; and Brian and his wife, Nathalie and their children, Staci, Travis and Jacob, of St. Agatha; two brothers, Conrad of St. Agatha and Normand of Frenchville; and two sisters, Jackie Gerard of Florida and Pauline Ouellette of St. Agatha. He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Rita; two sisters, Lucille Daigle and Cecile Grandmaison; one brother, Roger; and one sister-in-law, Phyllis. Friends and relatives may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. until the time of service Friday at Michaud Funeral Home, St. Agatha. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of the Valley Church, St. Agatha, with the Rev. Philip Cyr officiating. Burial will be in the spring at St. Agatha Lower Cemetery. For those who desire, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or a charity of one’s choice.
